First Lessons in Beekeeping by Keith Delaplane, 2007 - Color Photos
The book contains 166 pages and 139 color photos. Lots of the images are close ups. All aspects of beekeeping are shown and described in clear detail. A comprehensive book that is a great one to start with if you are interested in getting into the bee business. You may never need another beekeeping book.
The complete contents are too extensive to list them all so these are the main topics:
- Preface to the 2007 Edition
- Chapter 1 - The Place of Honey Bees in the World
- Chapter 2 - The Honey Bees' World
- Chapter 3 - The Beehive and Its Accessories
- Chapter 4 - Getting Started
- Chapter 5 - Management for Honey production and Pollination
- Chapter 6 - Products of the Beehive
- Chapter 7 - Off-Season Management
- Chapter 8 - Honey Bee Disorders, Parasites and Nest Invaders
- Epilogue
- Glossary
- 'Index
This is a soft cover book in very good condition. I did see some minor underlining on 3 pages but nothing serious, pages are otherwise very clean. The front cover has a bit of wrinkling on the front edge and a slight crease on the bottom corner. Binding is tight
