Description

Lucille Ball is the beautiful pin-up in this WW II Era Magazine, written by the Men, For the Men in the service. This is volume 3, number 40. This issue is fragile but in very good condition, with a couple small tears on the back cover There is some yellowing as is common with old paper. Pages are complete. This is a great collectible for someone who collects old military memorabilia or just likes to read articles about our war history.

This issue cover story: Pipe Swapping in Burma. Stories inside include:

  • Two New Civilians - To find out what happens after you're discharged YANK visits two ex-overseas GIs and reports their adjustment to life in their old neighborhoods.
  • Carrier Off Japan - When the air crew men came back from their low level raids, the thing they talked about most was the lack of Jap air opposition.
  • Truck Convoy to China - After Three Long Years The Land Route is Open Again.
  • Bull Sessions on Replacements - Training for combat, according to veterans in Italy, should be a hell of a lot more realistic and a hell of a lot more thorough.
  • London Building Boom - Combat engineers apply the TNT techniques they'll use later in battle to the job of cleaning up the blitzed capital of Britain.
  • A Letter to Von Papen
  • Funaguti Sketches - Sgt. Art Weithas, YANK staff artist, gives his impression of a Pacific island where troops sweat out the war in more ways than one.
